This review of my very first Diamond Painting is to provide you with some basic expectations of this fairly new craft. I did this particular project over a year ago, so the price and size may be slightly off. I love the 4 seasons so this one was right up my alley.

So I came across this craft by looking through a puzzle book. I enjoy jigsaw puzzles and when I saw these mosaic type pictures it reminded me of paint by number and cross stitching combined. I enjoy both so why wouldn’t I enjoy Diamond Painting?
The Cost was High
The projects inside the puzzle magazine where pretty pricey and I was immediately disappointed. I really wanted to try these but I had recently lost my job and I needed to watch every penny I was spending. Thank goodness for the internet – I began reviewing different sites that carried these projects with an array of pictures and sizes. So obviously the bigger the project the more expensive it was. I was just looking to give it a try so I was looking for something small and cheap to get started.
The Choices Are Vast
Can I just say “wow” – I mean the amount of projects you could choose from, just so hard to pick just one. I went for a small simple one. It’s the tree of 4 seasons (click on the link and you will see what I made) I just never took a picture of it. You can also click here where you can search for any project. This first project was very easy, but I think it would have come out better if it was a bit bigger. I’ve said it before, but bigger seems to be better when it comes to these projects.
I absolutely loved this picture but only part of it used actual drills(the one on here linked is actually a full drill). Which means it wasn’t a full drill project(this one actually is). So the only part of the picture that was “sticky” was the tree. This made it pretty easy to do and super fast, I had it done in know time at all. The drills were round (square is the other option) – after doing many projects, I prefer the square full drill projects versus the round ones. I don’t love the gap the round drills leaves, you can actually see the background color. This is a great beginners project.
