Diamond Painting is a fairly new DYI craft. It is actually a combination of cross stitch and paint by number. It’s a canvas with a picture stamped on it and it has small squares with different symbols that represent a different mosaic color. The canvas has a sticky film and the mosaics actually stick to it, when finished it forms a the picture you picked out.
Diamond Painting is for all age groups, it’s for anyone who enjoys crafting. There are projects for young and old, big and small, the options are endless. It’s quite intricate so if you don’t care for cross stitching or doing jigsaw puzzles, you probably wouldn’t enjoy Diamond Painting.
If you need to relax after a long day, this is a great way to do it. It takes your mind off things and it’s really quite enjoyable. I find it almost addicting, I can’t wait to do it and then time gets away from me and before I know it I should have been in bed an hour ago.
There are a number of different places you can purchase kits and supplies from; Amazon.com, Aliexpress.com and PaintwithDiamonds.com to name a few – I’ve also seen them at Michael’s craft stores as well.
I would start off with something simple and not too big to see if it would be something you would like. You can pick up a new kit for under $10.00. You’ve been warned, if you love it as much as I do and you find it addicting, don’t blame me. (HA HA)
